Deva (Ajay Devgan) an orphan adopted by A.C.P Siddhant Shekhawat (Vinod Khanna) and his wife Pushpa (Navni Parihar), who raise him like their own son. However, the uprightness of Deva and the love of A.C.P and his wife towards him makes the real son Karan (Ronit Roy), jealous of Deva. Sharmilee (Kajol), a petty thug is in love with Deva since childhood. Deva has a soft corner for her too. A.C.P. Siddhant takes on the might of a powerful and egoistic billionaire Shobhraj (Amrish Puri)when he tries to arrest his son Niranjan for rape and murder. Shobhraj then sets out to make life hell for A.C.P Siddhant and his family.
