Conventional steel panels

To increase the resistance against AP (armor-piercing, steel-core) bullets fired from assault rifles (including AK-47). The maximum level of ballistic panels can only be improved by using ceramic materials with a higher hardness than that of this ammunition with a high-carbon hard steel core. To this end, starting with alumina technical ceramic powders, the ceramic plates derived from developmental work were fired with steel core projectiles. After being fired in ballistic tests, the alumina-ceramic-reinforced composite plates were inspected on the front and rear surfaces and witness plates. Because of their lightweight structure, they are easy to manufacture, machine and install, so they are less costly than conventional steel panels. In addition, because there is no bullet ricochet compared to steel, injuries caused by this case are also prevented. Because our ballistic panels consist of a multi-layered structure, the energy of the bullet is absorbed in a controlled manner, which prevents the ricochet of the bullet.
